Style Scoop: John Galliano Turns Teacher, Madonna: One Night Only, Citizens of Humanity Curates Keith Haring

John Galliano has got a new gig. The former Dior head, and Oscar de la Renta alum will be teaching a master class at Parsons New School of Design, encouraging students to “SHOW ME EMOTION.” The three-day workshop is open to bachelor of fine arts seniors who meet faculty requirements and hold a minimum 3.0 GPA. Madonna has been Macy’s Material Girl since 2010 when she and daughter Lourdes Leon launched a clothing line based on Madge’s 1984 hit. This Thursday, the queen of reinvention is going into her wardrobe archives for a one-night-only pop-up at the chain’s Century City location in L.A. The two-hour retrospective will feature her iconic Jean Paul Gaultier corsets and a Marilyn Monroe-inspired look for the 1991 Academy Awards, curated by Madonna herself. “The pop-up exhibit at Macy’s perfectly exemplifies the inspiration and spirit of the Material Girl line and will give my fans a great opportunity to see the evolution of my style over the years,” she said to WWD. [GlamChic]

The Los Angeles-bred Citizens of Humanity brand has taken off to Paris to celebrate the street art of famed creative Keith Haring. Haring, who is also being remembered with a capsule collection at Uniqlo, is the focus of The Political Line exhibit at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris with his largest retrospective to date. [ELLE]

Well, it came to life at the Tribeca Film Festival on actress Caroline Correa, who donned it to the premier of the ice cream company’s new short film, As Good as Gold. The award-winning creative director of Calvin Klein’s womenswear collections, Francisco Costa, is teaming up with acclaimed artist Ellsworth Kelly in honor of his 90th birthday. Costa has been commissioned to recreate a color-block dress first designed by Kelly in 1952 that will be on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The dress will be reproduced in limited quantities to coincide with a Kelly retrospective that pays tribute to his 1970-1980 series of paintings known as the Chatman Series. [GLAM Inbox]
